Use ReShare AI from Claude and Codex
Connect Claude Code, Claude Desktop or OpenAI Codex to ReShare AI with a personal API key: swap your AI character into a reel, check on it, preview and schedule posts, and read analytics by asking your agent.
1. Create an API key
Sign in, open Settings → Connect your agent and create a key. Pick what it may do: Read, Make videos, Post. The key is shown once. Keep it in your shell as RESHARE_API_KEY and never commit it; each install below says whether it is also saved in a local config file.
2. Connect your agent
Add the ReShare AI MCP server. claude mcp add saves the key in your Claude Code config (~/.claude.json) on this machine. With the ReShare AI plugin instead, the key is read from RESHARE_API_KEY each time and never saved; the plugin also adds three skills (swap and post, schedule a week, check analytics).
Keep the key in your shell
Shell export RESHARE_API_KEY="rsk_…"Add the MCP server
Shell claude mcp add --scope user --transport http reshare https://www.reshare.ai/api/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer $RESHARE_API_KEY"Or the plugin (for ReShare AI team members until the public marketplace is up)
Shell claude plugin marketplace add reshareai/reshareai claude plugin install reshare@reshare
Server: https://www.reshare.ai/api/mcp (MCP over streamable HTTP, Authorization: Bearer with your key).
3. Ask
- “Swap my character Mia into https://www.instagram.com/reel/… and show me when it’s ready.”
- “Schedule my three newest videos on TikTok and Instagram, one a day at 6 pm Madrid time.”
- “How did last week’s posts do, and when should I post next?”
Your agent previews every post (accounts, caption limits, video length, time, how many posts it uses) and publishes only after you say yes.

Questions
Can my agent post without asking me?
No. Publishing needs confirm: true, and the plugin skills tell the agent to show you a preview first and wait for your yes. A repeated call with the same idempotency key never posts twice.
What can an API key see?
Only your own characters, videos, profiles and posts, even if you are a team admin. Each key has its own permissions (Read, Make videos, Post), a rate limit of 120 requests a minute, and can be revoked at any time.
Does it use my plan?
Yes, exactly as the app does. On the Free plan you get 5 posts a month and no AI swaps; your agent receives the same limit message and upgrade link you would see.
Where does my video go when I upload from an agent?
Straight from your machine to ReShare AI’s storage through a short-lived signed link; it never passes through a third party.
Does claude.ai work?
Not yet: claude.ai custom connectors sign in with OAuth, which is coming soon. Claude Desktop and Claude Code work today with an API key.
