An agent is an AI assistant that works on your computer. Once you connect it with an API key, it can use ReShare AI for you: list your characters, start a swap, check on it, and preview or schedule posts.
Supported agents
- Claude Code
- Claude Desktop
- OpenAI Codex (the Codex CLI)
claude.ai is marked Coming soon. It needs a different way of signing in that isn't available yet. Until then, use Claude Desktop or Claude Code.
What it can do
When you create a key, you choose what the agent may do. There are three permissions: Read, Make videos and Post.
Read
- See your characters. Only ready characters can be swapped into a video.
- See your profiles and their connected accounts.
- See your videos and how each one is coming along, with a download link when it's ready.
- See your upcoming and past posts, with each account's status and live link.
- See this month's usage.
- Read your analytics: views, likes and comments per network, and the best time to post.
Make videos
- Upload a video from your computer.
- Use a public Instagram, TikTok or YouTube Shorts link.
- Swap your character into a video. This uses AI swaps from your plan.
- Use your own video as it is, or trimmed.
Post
- Preview a post. This is a dry run: it checks the accounts, caption limits, video length and time, and sends nothing.
- Post now, at a set time, or in the queue.
- Cancel a scheduled post that hasn't gone out yet.
Things to ask
- "Swap my character into this reel and tell me when it's ready."
- "Schedule my three newest videos on TikTok and Instagram, one a day at 6 pm."
- "How did last week's posts do, and when should I post next?"
What it can't do
- See anyone else's characters, videos, profiles or posts. An agent works only on your own.
- Go past your plan. It gets the same limits as the app.
- Skip the preview. Posting always starts with a preview, and the agent has to confirm before anything is published. Tell your agent to check with you first. See Keep your agent safe.
